In this blog post, we will walk you through the process of connecting Power BI to Intune Data Warehouse using OData feed, building compliance and device health dashboards, configuring scheduled refreshes, and sharing with management via the Power BI service.
Firstly, let’s discuss the built-in reports available in the Intune admin center. These reports provide valuable insights into device compliance and configuration status.
However, for historical reporting, you can leverage Intune Data Warehouse. This powerful tool collects data from your devices and makes it available for analysis using various tools, including Power BI.
To connect Power BI to Intune Data Warehouse, follow these steps:
1. Sign in to the Power BI service.
2. Click on ‘Get Data’ and then ‘ODATA feed’.
3. Enter the URL of your Intune Data Warehouse.
4. Provide credentials when prompted.
5. Select the tables you want to import and click ‘Load’.
Once connected, you can create custom dashboards that provide insights into device health and compliance status.
To configure scheduled refreshes for your Power BI dashboard, follow these steps:
1. Open your Power BI report.
2. Click on ‘File’ > ‘Options and settings’ > ‘Options’.
3. Under ‘Data source settings’, click on the data source you want to schedule a refresh for.
4. Set the refresh frequency as per your requirements.
5. Save your changes.
Finally, share your dashboard with stakeholders by clicking on ‘File’ > ‘Share’ > ‘People’. This will allow them to view and collaborate on your reports.
By leveraging Intune Policy Reporting and Power BI, IT admins can gain valuable insights into their device estate and make informed decisions about policy management.
